Mission
The mission of the School Social Work Programs office is to provide programmatic supervision and technical support for all M-DCPS school social workers.  This includes staff assigned in District, Regional Center, Health Connect in Our Schools (HCiOS), School Improvement Zone (SIZ), Alternative Education, Special Education (SPED) and other specialized programs.  This program office will develop policy and procedures that promote school social work best practices and highlight the social work profession.

Method
The School Social Work Program office coordinates the programmatic supervision of all school social workers in M-DCPS.  The District School Social Work program office has one Regional Center School Social Work Services Chairperson based at each of the six (6) area Regional Centers.  The chairpersons provide leadership and supervision to all the school social workers assigned to programs and/or schools within their respective Regional Center.  The chairpersons are responsible for collaborating with District, Regional Center and school administration to facilitate provision of school social work services in their respective schools.
